A stabbing on the morning of April 21 left a 29-year-old male injured. He apparently fled the scene and collapsed on the sidewalk outside of 197 Norman Avenue.
Police received a 911 call around 11:34 am. They arrived to find the victim stabbed in the leg and slashed in the wrist. A spokesperson for the NYPD was not able to confirm the perpetrator’s identity or whether or not they were known to the victim, but sources shared additional details with amNewYork.
“A local eyewitness…believed the incident unfolded in an apartment situated above a nearby hair salon and involved a domestic dispute between the victim and an older man,” the outlet reported.
“He came running down the steps covered in blood; he was dripping blood. He doesn’t make it far because of how bad his injuries are, then he sits on the stairs,” they quote the witness as saying.
The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst in stable condition. Additionally, a 36-year-old female was brought to NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull with for an evaluation; no injuries reported.
No arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing. amNewYork also reports that police are still searching for the perpetrator.
