A stabbing on the morning of April 21 left a 29-year-old male injured. He apparently fled the scene and collapsed on the sidewalk outside of 197 Norman Avenue.

Police received a 911 call around 11:34 am. They arrived to find the victim stabbed in the leg and slashed in the wrist. A spokesperson for the NYPD was not able to confirm the perpetratorโ€™s identity or whether or not they were known to the victim, but sources shared additional details with amNewYork.

“A local eyewitness…believed the incident unfolded in an apartment situated above a nearby hair salon and involved a domestic dispute between the victim and an older man,” the outlet reported.

โ€œHe came running down the steps covered in blood; he was dripping blood. He doesnโ€™t make it far because of how bad his injuries are, then he sits on the stairs,โ€ they quote the witness as saying.

The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst in stable condition. Additionally, a 36-year-old female was brought to NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull with for an evaluation; no injuries reported.

No arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing. amNewYork also reports that police are still searching for the perpetrator.
